Hadracha means leadership. LJNetzers Hadracha course is your chance to learn what it takes to become an inspirational madrich/a/ol (youth leader) on LJYNetzer events and in your local community.

If you have already completed one or two years of Hadracha, we strongly recommended coming back for the higher tracks as your leadership journey never ends. This year we are back at the fantastic Skeet House, a lovely residential site with incredible features such as an adventure playground, swimming pool, and creative studio space. Being at Skeet House allows us to focus on our ideology and engage in the course wholly. We will be bringing in lots of professional speakers to educate on a wide range of topics from Liberal Judaism to how to be effective in social action .

HOW DOES IT ALL WORK?

Machaneh Hadracha is a compact five day seminar which imparts leadership knowledge, such as child development, group dynamics, holistic learning and informal education. This informative learning on pedagogy and how to support young people is mixed with our core ideologies of Liberal Judaism, Reform Zionism, Tikkun olam and Youth empowerment.

The course will also equip you with practical leadership skills, such as session writing, song leading and improvisation; useful for life outside of LJYNetzer too.  With a range of external speakers, and top of the range educators from Yachad, Rene Cassin and Rabbis from Leo Baeck, along with others; this event will not only provide leadership training, but also a set up for future life endeavours.

You must have been on a Hadracha Seminar to lead on events.

The course will run in a track system to make sure learning is suitable for the group and pushes them to become better leaders. We highly recommend coming back to hadracha to ensure a well rounded, and indepth, leadership training experience.

WHERE IS IT?

In trying to adapt to the needs of the movement, we have expanded our Hadracha Seminar into a Machaneh Hadracha, a fully immersive camp experience which shows that not only our chanichim (participants) can have fun! At our new site at Skeet Hill House, our participants will feel like they themselves are on camp, using the swimming pool and extensive outdoor space between sessions.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU GAIN?

We are really excited that LJY-Netzer has just been approved as a vInspired Award provider.  The vInspired awards are a recognition scheme for young volunteers. They have been designed to celebrate the efforts and achievements of volunteers aged 14-25 in England and recognise the amazing things young people do. They are designed to show colleges, universities and potential employers the positive impact young volunteers have had on their communities and the skills they have gained through their experiences.
